Ingredients:

5 C. sifted flour
1/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. soda
2 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder

1 pkg. dry yeast
1/4 c. warm water
1-1/2 c. buttermilk
1 c. shortening

Cooking Instructions:

Sift dry ingredients together, cut in shortening

Dissolve yeast in warm water and combine buttermilk and then add this to the dry ingredients. Stir well . Knead. Add more flour if necessary

Roll out on a floured board to about 1/2 in. thick

Cut with biscuit cutter

Spread tops with melted butter

Bake at 450 until golden brown

Serving Suggestions:

These are more like rolls than biscuits

Additional Comments:

Note: Cut-out biscuits may be frozen on a cookie sheet unti hard and then placed in a plastic bag and kept in freezer until needed.
