From my niece this morning:
“ I’m so sorry to share that Katie died. She was improving, until she wasn’t, and declined in a matter of hours. I’m so glad I was able to get her off the street, but so heartbroken she couldn’t be around longer. Kate the Great “ ************************************************ My niece has lived there for years and helps to feed a colony of feral cats in the neighborhood. Yesterday was the first day she saw this guy and he walked right up to her and let her pick him up. She was instantly smitten and took him home. He is in confinement in the bathroom right now and will be fully vetted tomorrow. Obviously not feral and this look says "what took you so long to find me?"

Interesting. The kitty I just adopted is also 15 years old, named Katie---but I changed spelling to Khatie. Khatie Purry.
