Information from the National Groundwater Association:

As August — which is National Water Quality Month — gets underway, NGWA wants to remind you of an upcoming important September “water” date as well. Protect Your Groundwater Day 2018 (#PYGWD), taking place September 4, provides an opportunity for people to learn about the importance of groundwater and how the resource impacts lives.

Throughout August we’ll be sharing downloadable/shareable resources and information on #PYGWD.

NGWA recommends that water well owners have their wells checked and tested by a certified and/or licensed contractor every year to ensure water safety. Learn more at WellOwner.org.

Thanks for helping us spread the word about the important role groundwater plays in all of our lives!

We had a water company come out to test our water once to verify our findings of low PH. The kid didn't even know how to collect the water to test, my husband ALMOST kicked him out of here. the results came back and they tried to sell up a water softener system for acidic water. We called BS and installed our own neutralizer tank. We test with a kit we got from Amazon (link below). Works very well and helps you to keep up with bacteria in your well water.

Why did I tell you that story above? Because it pays to become informed and know and understand your wells. So seminars like this are very important for folks that do not understand or know much about wells. It can cost you thousands by an unethical company or worse, become very sick if you don't test your water.

Here is the test kit we use:

I have used Sky Country Pump CO for different things, including pump replacement on a house I was flipping and they are a family business and honest. They will not try to sell you something you don't need, but they will tell it to you straight up if you need to do something and why.

Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment offers a number of water tests for relatively cheap. They can mail you sample containers for free and you can just mail them back for some types of tests, though other types do require dropping the samples off right away (in Aurora, ugh).

They have hundreds of individual tests but here's their recommended "combos": https://www.colorado.gov/pacific/cdphe/ ... -and-costs

Sure thing, our only weird thing in Evergreen was Uranium but a simple reverse osmosis takes care of that for drinking water (don't get suckered into a whole house filter unless you actually really need one). I believe these people are who cities around the state use to test their own city water.
