Well, always actually, but especially today. My daughter was just able to 'talk' to one of her closest friends to tell her good-bye. Her friend Kristie is on life support in ICU in Grand Junction after cutting her arms from elbow to wrist after what they usually call 'a bad breakup'. Kristie's grown daughter was able to hold her cell phone to Kristie's ear so the things that needed to be said could be said and bring closure.

They are taking Kristie off life support later today and will try to use some of her organs for transplants. Kristie is leaving two daughters, 19 and 22, and a little boy who turned eight yesterday. Kristie was a handful to say the least, a strikingly pretty woman with an outgoing personality. All gone wrong.

I can't count the people who are going to feel this loss deeply, me included. I watched this girl grow up from grade school to high school cheerleader to marriage to babies to career to train wreck. I am sad and angry all at the same time. But I hurt most for my daughter and Kristie's daughters and her little son. Please send up a prayer for all concerned.

There is no doubt Kristie meant to take her life as she bought wine and razor blades, drove to a remote area, hid her car in trees and bushes, drank wine and texted pictures of what she was doing to her husband. They couldn't find her for three hours despite two counties looking. Finally they were able to track her last cell phone signal, but she had taken the battery out.

I just don't know what else to say. I was in an auto accident the other day and it looks like my car is going to be totalled. I am really sore and bruised, but right now my problems seem so trivial.

I am just stricken by this post VH.

Dear Lord enfold this family in your love and comfort as they have a long journey ahead to try to make sense out of what desperation and anger and betrayal can do to our fragile spirits.

Prayers for those that love Kristie and are whirling in a mire of emotion now and going forward. Give them strength to rally around each other for support.

I hold you up in prayer as well VH. for your physical pain and your troubled heart.

God, give Kristie peace.

They disconnected all life support Friday evening. Unbelievably to me, Kristie is still breathing, labored and slow, but there is no hope she will survive. Sometimes she does open her eyes when you call her name, but the girls said 'when you look in her eyes, Kristie isn't there'.

Everyone seems to be doing as well as they can, but this whole situation seems to just get more and more sad.

I am confused VH, and don't mean to be morbid, but what is the cause of her not being able to survive this? did she loose so much blood that there is brain damage?

Please know I have not stopped my prayers for this awful situation and those involved. More information converts to very specific and particular prayers and God knows this family needs them.

What is the lesson here, Lord?

Yes, apparently so. (Blood loss.) Initially they said she has lost almost all the blood in her body and showed next to no signs of life. They did an MRI and determined if she lived she would not be functioning in any way. They maintained life support so that her organs could be used, as I understand it. When those arrangements were under way, they dc'd all support.

Kristie is still with her family, clinging to life somehow. They have started a Facebook page to share memories and help raise donations for these last expenses.

Definitely not the way anyone thought this would go.

Is this still the case VH. I can not fathom how grueling this entire journey must be for her loved ones, especially her children. Know I continue to pray for them all.

Yes, sadly it is Jo. She is still with us, but her breathing has become irregular off and on this week. I hate to think of that as a 'good sign', but I think it is. One daughter says Kristie is absolute skin and bones; it is tearing them all to pieces emotionally and physically. They remain at her bedside.

Her husband is just riddled with guilt and nearly inconsolable. When she told him she was going to kill herself he told her "You are not. You're not that stupid". Next thing he got was the pictures and there was no immediate way to locate her.

This whole thing is just unbelievably sad, not only for Kristie but her daughters, her little son, and everyone. I say my prayers for God's Will several times a day and I thank you for yours.

Kristie was a friend of my daughter and my nephew. They are devastated by this event, and just can't believe what is happening. My god bless her soul, and my prayers and condolences to the family and friends.
