Thank you all for your kindness and prayers. This has been along, hard road, never knowing from one hour to the next when the end would come. Just keep her daughters and her little son in your prayers. My daughter is grief-stricken, of course, but at peace.

I hope whatever lessons to be learned from Kristie's death are learned and learned well. She paid quite a price. A lot of people did.

One year ago today that Kristie Brown passed. I picture her in my mind riding horses, free at last from everything she was running to or from. Kristie, what were you thinking? You would be stunned to know how many hearts broke.

Oh VL, I don't know how I missed this thread when it was posted but along with everyone else's, my heart broke to read it.
We are not able to think straight when we're depressed, and can become overwhelmed by problems that may have seemed capable of resolution in the morning. During those dark hours, we may give in to irrational thoughts as the cloud of despair seems to deepen. A tragic act that someone might never consider at another time, in the shadow of darkness seems to them to be the only solution to their pain.
