Oh, the agonizing wait. Emotions are so raw at this time. Prayers for a peaceful transition for all.

Today, while I was helping my brother and his family move, my mother gave me an update about my Uncle Mel. Around 4 a.m. Satureday morning he awoke and tried to get out of bed and asked to be taken home. He is still in the hospital this night, but today he was sitting up, out of bed, when I visited with him. He drifted in and out, and seemed a bit confused at times, but for now at least it appears he will recover. They have again started treating the respiratory ailment that was the cause of him being taken to the hospital and if he continues to progress, he may be allowed to return home tomorrow afternoon.
Please continue to pray for him. Though it appears that he will be leaving the hospital under his own head of steam this time, he is still facing many medical challenges each and every day. He is on dialysis, and has been for a couple of years now, and he does have diminished lung functioning at this stage of his life, as well as some permanent reminders of a stroke that he suffered a few years back. For now at least, it appears that the Creator has decided to leave him here with us, a blessing we are very thankful to receive. Thank you for all of your prayers for him and all of us who love him. May God Bless each and every one of you with the same kindness that you have shown us. _________________ “Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. Just received another call from my mom. It seems that the the last round of dialysis didn't work for my uncle. It has been decided that there will be no more dialysis for him and they have given him a blood transfusion and he is now in hospice care. They anticipate that he will live another 5-7 days.
So I again ask you to pray for my uncle and all of us who love him that the Creator grants him an easy and peaceful passing. It was his wish to pass in his own bed, but it appears that this is not going to be an option due to the level of care he will need in his final days. I want to thank all of you in advance for your prayers and your kindness towards my family. May God Bless each of you. Sacred Heart of Jesus, once in agony, have mercy on the dying. _________________ “Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. I hope that your uncle and family will find generously compassionate support in hospice care, even though it's regrettable that circumstances made it unavoidable -- and send sympathies your way.
