Reuser and recycler,so far I've learned of three uses for the ash from new friend, the wood stove:

Put ash in compost.

A paper with ash cleans the glass on the wood stove quite well.

Sprinkle ash on snow in the driveway and it helps melt the snow.

Pretty cool. Are there any other uses for ash?

Sprinkling ash in the driveway can cause a mess when you track it into your house/comes into the garage via your vehicle. Ash in low amounts is good for your grass and since I have been putting it on my lawn, those pesky pocket gophers have retreated. I plan on spreading ash in other areas where I do not want pocket gophers (and they are there now) to test whether ash does the trick.

I'd love this to work on the mice and ground squirrels, but like Daisy said it can be really messy
