Sounds like Spuds has been spooked
We have a deep well, very hard water, and an original 25 year old pump with no issues that in and of itself, means nothing Just exactly what are the issues with your well pump that causes you to connect hardness with pump problems? _________________ If things seem to be under control You simply are not going fast enough Mario Andretti |

Call Todd Hart, "The Water Guy". Softeners can work! 303-753-1737. He's very trustworthy and has been around for years. If he can't help, he won't try to sell you something.

I'd stay away from Geo Water...they tried to upset me and my neighbor, and I don't trust them.

Thank you for your replies. Clarification, we are not having any trouble with our well or pump, they work marvelously. It is the hardness of the water.

If you can't live with the hard water, Get a water softener
As opposed to Well companies, I recommend you contact water softener companies and get several estimates as this is all they do and can provide service and supplies Just be aware that these devices require constant maintenance and after being in the property inspection business for many years, I find that of the installed systems I see, over 50% are not operational and have been so for quite some time I believe there is a message hidden in that observation Also be aware that many people do not like softened water in a bath or shower as soft water (compared to harder water) feels slippery - kind of like when you can't completely rinse off the soap _________________ If things seem to be under control You simply are not going fast enough Mario Andretti |

Talk with Sky County (303) 697-5013 and see what they say. Honest, family owned business that will never try to sell you stuff you do not need. Living Water also good reviews for being honest and reliable (303) 838-7301 If you do decide to go with a water softening system, see if you find one that "upflows" as opposed to one you have to backwash. These require no drains or electricity. That is what we did for our neutralizer tank (our PH is low 6.2) Geowater wanted to sell us a water softening system for our PH problem. really? We installed our tank ourselves. I have no idea if water softener systems can be an upflow design. these folks are knowledgeable if you want to do the research part yourself https://midatlanticwater.net/ _________________ _________________ A Rainbow Bridge for Pinecammers. Having lived here most of our lives, we are completely accustom to hard water, and understand the slippery feel of soft water. Our issue is the extreme hardness of the water that is causing issues for our boiler. We need a solution for the water coming from the well, before it enters the boiler or other components of our home.
Appreciate all the positive feedback-thank you! Last edited by Randy on Oct 24, 2020 7:11 am, edited 1 time in total. |
