I have a steep drive, and my house sits below the road grade (where the sewage line is), so I have a sewage pit & lift pump setup. The sewage line is frozen underground at some point downstream of my above ground lift pump plumbing in the garage. The pump is working fine.

Any idea how to go about solving this?

can you try a heavy solution of salt and hot water along with a mechanical rooter at the clean-out above your lift pump?

contact Shirley Septic to use the steamer to defrost the line.... Other companies use a lot of water to defrost and this can fill up your septic tank

I have a sewer line that is almost flat, so when we dug up the line we wrapped industrial heat tape round it and only put on a timer in the winter.

I recently had the same issue with frozen lines. Shirley Septic took great care of me at a reasonable cost. I would highly recommend them.
