 Post subject: Aspen saplings - how close to house?

I have Aspen saplings coming up everywhere. I snip them off for fear they might be too close to the foundation. One summer, I cut down more than 40! I'd much rather leave them to grow.

However, how close to the house would be too close for aspen?

We have them all around and I would say the closest is about 10' from house. We even put up electric fences to allow the babies to grow up into trees. The deer have always munched them down. Insurance is OK with aspens as they "do not burn" like regular trees because the bark is full of chlorophyll (living bark) and are considered fire resistant.

Yes, I've been told it's pine and especially spruce that present the danger.

I understand the juniper family are the most dangerous to use in landscaping. The oils burn fast and hot and start easily from embers.
