I bought this one 6 years ago and use it all the time.

Thanks Wiley, Amazon is where I have mostly been looking and figured that was the type I would probably end up with. What makes me mad (at myself) is someone on this site was selling one for $60.00 but did not act fast enough.

We purchased this one from Costco online this spring, and so far, it works great.

Thanks for all of the info. For those of you that actually have a heater, what would you say the lowest temperature was that you comfortably sat outside?

I have 2 of them and I often position them between the chairs around my 150,000 BTU gas firepit. If there is no breeze, they provide reasonably good heat and I've used them down into the 20's. If there is a breeze, not much heat makes it down to your chair. I always kind of wish they had a telescoping pole, so that I could lower them a bit to get more intense heat out of them at the chair level. Sometimes I wish I had a couple of taller, bar height chairs to get better heat from them, and probably the firepit too.
I bought my nice looking bronze finished patio heaters at an end of the summer sale at ACE hardware for $99 several years ago and they still look and work great. I also thought I'd mention that I bought an indoor/outdoor infrared heater thinking it would be better in windy conditions, and as far as heat goes it is, but the heater produces a bright orange glow from the element and ruins the ambiance of sitting out looking at the stars, so I ended up using it in my garage to heat up my workbench area instead. |

Mine is under a covered deck in a kind of living room setting. I've gone out and enjoyed the day into the high 40's but then I will also take a blanket and something warm to drink _________________ _________________ A Rainbow Bridge for Pinecammers.
