Somewhere in a box in the basement I have a photograph of Hanging Lake in the middle of winter that I took while attending college in the area 40 years ago, when I-70 was a two lane interstate through Glenwood Canyon. It's still a beautiful sight, but it's not the same with the observation walkway that had to be erected to keep it pristine.
If the commenter thinks the hike was bad when they went, they ought to be VERY thankful they didn't attempt the ascent while the "trail" was covered in a layer of ice with 40# of medium format photography equipment in a pack on their back . . . lol _________________ “Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive.
